Health and Social Care L3

BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 National Extended Diploma. (Key stage 5)

This qualification has been designed to be the only qualification in a two-year, full-time study programme; it is an in-depth study of the health and social care sector. It supports progression to health and social care related degrees. This course has been running at Waverley studio college since 2013. The course results have always been consistent at successful every year.

Course structure:

  • 1080 GLH (1530 TQT) Equivalent in size to three A Levels.
  • 13 units of which 8 are Mandatory and 4 are external. Mandatory content (72%). External assessment (42%).

The following units are taught over the two-year programme. Alongside completing the external and internal units Learners are required to complete 200 hours of work placement in a Health or Care Setting, this also contributes to their assessment for unit 6.
